The Wedding Couple

Hitched & How!
Umesh and Hayley Patel

Truly marraiges are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. Here’s an inspiring prelude to a wonderful lifelong journey. A wedding story of a beautiful couple Umesh and Hayley Patel, whose wedding was planned to perfection and designed to impress.

The beautiful couple Umesh and Hayley met seven years ago and rest as they say is history. The loving, inseparable duo knew they wanted an Indian and English traditional wedding. They wanted a unique destination with simple décor, yet feel intimate.

We all know vibrancy and majesty are central to an Indian wedding, and Combermere’s elegant interior, abundant, picturesque parkland provided a perfectly regal backdrop for the much anticipated grand occasion.

Needless to say, Combermere Abbey, the venue at the apex of six walled gardens, with the striking Edwardian Glasshouse provided a serene backdrop for exchanging vows besides the rolling countryside encircling the grand venue, made for their idyllic setting for the much looked forward to wedding party.

No wedding is complete without fine food, adhering to the English/Indian theme of the wedding, Hayley and Umesh opted for a fusion menu by Picked Walnut catering which included mouthwatering dishes with an Indian twist.

With plenty of kith n kin traveling from India, there was plethora of entertainment to keep the guests pepped. From a harpist playeing traditional Indian songs to the DJ playing a mix of genres including Bhangra made way for fun memories of a lifetime.

The wedding decor takes centre stage at every wedding and here the wedding look was spectacular too. Going for a ‘romantic glamour’ theme, a stylish colour palette of deep pink, silver and white dominated the ceremony. Roses and hydrangeas adorned the venue, whilst the four-tier wedding cake was decorated with silver leaf and dusky pink hand-made flowers. Imagine being spoilt for choice with each layer having a different flavour sponge, including red velvet, coconut and lemon. Food for thought?

Opting for a classic look, for the Hindu ceremony which is synonymous with traditional Indian garments in rich colours and fabrics, Hayley opted for modern and elegant attires for the main ceremony in-keeping with the chic pink and white colour scheme. Picture pretty Hayley in a white Pronovias dress with a tulle frilled skirt and train while the bridesmaids in pink dresses from Reiss! The groom opted for a dark blue suit from Hugo Boss and hired similar coloured suits for the groomsmen from Swarbricks in Manchester.

With guests travelling from across the world, the couple hosted their nuptials at this memorable venue which also had several luxury cottages to accommodate guests alongside the resplendent Honeymoon Suite for the married couple. Following the ceremony which they had an after party post the reception for the big guest list to revel in the merriment and boogie away till late making it a night to remember!

Inspired enough are we? You get one chance to plan your perfect wedding day, so choosing a venue with a wealth of expertise catering to every taste and requirement is a great place to start. Happy planning, happy wedding!
